Instead of calling it the “John” I’m going to name it the “Jim”. That way when the doctor ask if I am exercising, I can tell her I’m going to the “Jim” every morning.
I mean the trainer asked me recently if I had ever done CrossFit. I told her I did CrossFit every morning. She said really? I said oh yeah, every time I go to get dressed, I look at the cross and pray my pants are going to fit.
I’m just trying to make the best use of my words. So far, it seems to be working.
Jesus was walking with His disciples in the village of Caesarea Philippi when He asked them two questions. The first question was “Who do people say I am?” The disciples replied, “some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” (Matthew 16:13-20)
The second question Jesus asked them was: “But who do you say I am?”
Who do I say Jesus is? Who do you say Jesus is? Not who do your parents or teachers, spouse, pastor or friends say that Jesus is, but who do you and I say Jesus is? Sooner or later we must proclaim for ourselves who Jesus is.
Unfortunately, our society wants to throw Jesus in the category of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Jesus is not a figment of Christian imagination.
Time is growing short. Let us be found faithful of chasing Jesus.
Until next week……..Don’t forget to smile!
